Chapter 33

The next morning, Karen woke up and looked at Sidney still asleep beside her. She turned her head to look out the patio doors and smiled as she realized where she was. Getting up, Karen went to the bathroom then got her bathing suit on, quietly heading downstairs. She reached into the refrigerator and got some juice out, pouring some into a glass. Walking over to the deck, she smiled as she finished her juice and went to go sit out on the lounge chair.

"You are not the one I would expect out here this early in the morning."

"Kiki, you know I can tire the love of my life out faster. It's my talent."

"Maybe you're not utilizing your wife to the best of her ability."

Max just smirked "maybe you need to give her some pointers."

"Technically she was the one that taught me everything. Ask Sidney, he'll tell you what you're missing out on."

"You know Karen, I do seem to like you more and more."

"That seems to be the popular consenus around the Pens organization."

"Don't let the other guys get to ya, they mean well. It's not every day a player's wife plays with us they way you do."

"I know what Geno, Staalsy and you have on your mind when you get explicit with me. I can play to the edge of the fire ring with the best of them. It's all talk and we all know that." Karen looked over to Max "I'm glad you did this for her. I didn't want to try and mend a twice broken heart."

"Well if I couldn't have you, I got the next best thing" he said smiling "ever since the first time I kissed her I knew she was what I needed in my life."

"I'm happy for you Maxwell."

"I'm happy for Sid too. We were all worried about him not finding a girl that would treat him like he needs to be treated. But he surprised us all and found a woman that, god help us, is exactly like him."

Karen just laughed "it is scary at times at how much we're alike. You know in the beginning I was more sketical about being with him then he was."

"How is that possible?"

"I couldn't, actually didn't want to see myself get hurt again. Besides, he's Sidney fucking Crosby. He could have left me for any girl out there."

"But he listened to his heart and chose the best thing for him. We never thought he would go find someone else."

"Geno and Staalsy are kicking themselves over that one too. Sidney finds someone else, it's open season on me from those two" she said giggling.

"I believe you would have had a couple more than you know of" Max said grinning.

"I don't think I want to know."

"Know what beautiful" Sidney asked walking up behind them.

"Who else has been pining for your wife from a far" Max said getting up "of course, it doesn't surprise me if its the whole locker room" he said leaving them alone.

"Is the whole locker room in love with me?"

"We wouldn't have a team to compete if they all were" he said sitting beside her "why didn't you wake me?"

"You looked to peaceful and I didn't have the heart to wake you."

"Could've woke me up another way."

"We're here for a week stud, don't overuse me all on the first day."

"I won't baby. Feel like maybe playing some golf with me today?"

"I can't really play."

"I'll be more than happy to teach you."

"Oh god, you plan to ravish me on the back 9 aren't you?"

"No" he said laughing "didn't think about it but now that you mentioned it."

"I'll play only if you can promise to behave yourself."

"I promise, and you'll have fun."

"Can we go after I even out my tan?"

"We can go whenever you want." Karen got up and leaned over, kissing him before moving the lounger and laying on her stomach. "Want me to put lotion on your back?"

"But of course my handsome servant" she said reaching back to untie her bikini top. Sidney smiled and started squirting lotion in his hand "don't even think about reacting to what thoughts are running around in that head of yours."

"Wasn't even gonna go there baby" Sidney said with a sly smile as he rubbed the lotion into her skin.

A couple hours later, the four friends went to the golf course. Natalie and Max tee'd off first and when they were done playing the first hole, Karen was about to put her ball on the tee until Sidney stopped her.

"Why are you stopping me?"

"Just let them get a little head start." Sidney pulled her to him and attacked her lips with a hard yet passionate kiss.

"Sidney Patrick, I swear you are insatiable." Karen got out of his grasp and laughed as she got by the ball and was preparing to take a swing.

"Here baby, let me help" he said going behind her and making sure her form was where it needed to be. Karen felt his hands go from her hips to her arms and felt his crotch press into her ass as he put his hands over hers. "All you need to do is pull your arms back and keep your head down towards the ball."

Karen of course turned her head to look at Sidney with their lips inches apart "makes we wonder why we haven't tried this before now."

Sidney kissed her before letting her go "just do what I said and you'll be fine." Karen smiled and went back to her stance. She brought her arms back and came back down hitting the ball with such force that they saw it landed on the green. "Baby, when you mentioned about playing did you say you can't or didn't like to play?"

"Why? Did I do good with that shot?"

Sidney shook his head and stepped up to the tee "can't believe I fell for that." He took his shot and his ball landed near hers.

"Does that mean I don't get any more one on one lessons?"

"We'll see" he said as they got in the golf cart to head to the green to putt. Karen just laughed and knew this was going to be a long day.

The longer they played the more of a competition it became instead of a friendly game. Every shot Karen took and landed on the green, Sidney had to make it just as great. By the 18th hole, Max and Natalie were standing off to the side waiting as for them to get done.

"Alright baby, last hole and we are tied going in."

"What are you getting at Crosby? Plan to make a bet on the last shot?"

"Maybe."

"Name the stakes."

"Nope" Sidney said shaking his head "just think about what you want IF you win and I will think of what I want WHEN I win."

Karen just laughed "alright, but when I win you better be a good sport and make it enjoyable."

They both took their shots and both landed on the green, but Karen's ball was a little closer to the hole than Sidney's.

"Five bucks says Karen botches it to let Sidney win" Max whispered to Natalie.

"You make millions and you're only betting five bucks?"

"My money does seem to all go to you anyway..." he said but couldn't finish since Natalie hit him in the stomach.

Sidney stood looking at the situation "what do you think baby?"

"You take two strokes to my one and I win?"

"We'll see about that...ladies first."

Karen lined up her shot and made it in one stroke. She leaned down and picked up her ball and stood back to give Sidney his turn. He got ready and looked at Karen before taking his shot. As the ball started rolling it looked like it was slowing down and when it reached the edge of the hole, it took a minute but then dropped in.

"Well look at how that turned out, it's a tie."

"I guess that means we both win" Sidney said with a smirk.

"Not like you didn't plan it that way studly."

Sidney walked over to her and put his arms around her "we both would have won anyways baby" he said leaning in to kiss her.

"Come on you two, let's go grab some lunch then later you grab something else Siddo."

"Such the romantic Max."

"For you, there's romance..for those two, they need to get a room, later."

Sidney let go of Karen and they walked over to their friends. They got their stuff turned in and headed to lunch.

"What would you guys think of a couples only night tonight?" Max asked the group.

"Ooo, date night..I like it" Karen said.

"You would Kiki. Not like you need a specific date to do what you would've done on the golf course."

"Hey now, that was this one" she said pointing to Sid "I'm not the only one to start things you know."

"Not my Sid..he's an angel" Max said as Sidney sat there batting his eyes.

"Really? Remind me to dig out a video tape from our honeymoon when we stopped at a little bed and breakfast in Nova Scotia."

Max just looked to Sidney who just smiled "Sidney, really..a video? Dude.." he said fist pumping him "I knew you had it in ya." Karen and Natalie just looked at each other and rolled their eyes. "Of course Karen, didn't think you were really that type of girl?"

"Well looks can be deceiving Maxwell. Just ask your wife" Karen said getting a very evil look from Natalie. "Sorry, but he started playing unfair first."

"You really don't want me to open any can of worms o' best friend of mine."

"Oh good, sharing hour has begun."

"Why do I think this isn't going to bode well Max?" Sidney asked somewhat scared.

"Give it time Darryl, I love when my woman gets fiesty."

"Your woman" Natalie said surprised.

"At least the attention is off me now" Karen told Sidney. He grabbed her hand and kissed it as they continued to listen to their friends.

An hour later, they finished lunch and went shopping around for a bit before heading back and going their separate ways.

Karen was sitting on the couch staring out at the ocean when Sidney came to sit beside her "What do you want to do for our date night?"

"You mean you have nothing planned yet?"

"Oh I have things planned, but was being a gentleman by asking you your opinion."

"And when it comes to ravishing me, I have an opinion?"

"You've always had an opinion...you just never really got to give it" he said laughing to make her laugh.

"Got it. I would like to get dressed up and go out to dinner?"

"I think I can arrange that. How about that place we saw down the beach? We could walk down and then back afterwards?"

"I would love that."

"Ok, well I'm going to run down and make a reservation for us." Sidney got up and kissed Karen before heading out. She smiled wondering what else he could have planned but shook her head before lying down and letting the beach air lull her to sleep.

Sidney went to the restaurant and made their reservations. He was heading back when he took a detour to the main hotel and walked in.

"Mr. Crosby, everything alright?" the hotel clerk asked.

"Yes, everything has been wonderful. I thought when we checked in I remeber seeing a women's clothing shop."

"Oh yes, right this way" the clerk said then escorted him "Sandy here will be able to help you with anything you need."

As Sidney thanked the clerk, a middle aged woman came over "hi there, I'm Sandy. How can I help you today?"

"My wife and I are going out to dinner tonight and she did bring a dress with her, I was wondering if you had something she might like."

"I think it's more for what you would like to see her in sweetie" she said seeing Sidney smile "I know that look, newlyweds?"

"No, we've been married for awhile but I do love to see her in beautiful dresses."

"Well tell me about her dear."

"She's about 5'5", brown hair, brown eyes and sporting a very nice tan that I would love to see her show off."

"I think I have a few ideas, let me go get a couple styles and show them to you." Sidney stood around and looked at all the dresses in the shop. He could see Karen in all of them and she would even make the ugly ones look beautiful. "Ok honey, let's get your opinion on these" Sandy said bringing out a rack with 8 different styles on it. Sidney looked at each dress and pictured Karen in each one. When he came to the last one, he smiled and pulled it off the rack.

"I like this one and I know my wife will love it."

Sandy smiled "I think she'd love it too. Let's get it wrapped up for you." She took the dress from Sidney and rang it up. After he paid, she put the dress in a garment bag and handed it to him. "If she has any problems or if it doesn't fit, I'm here until 9p and we can fix it before you guys go to dinner."

"Thank you Sandy, you've been a great help."

"You're welcome sweetie and hope you and your wife have a fantastic evening tonight. Enjoy the rest of your stay here." Sidney told her goodbye and left.

When he got back, Karen was still asleep on the couch and he was able to sneak in and head upstairs with the dress. He came back down and decided to join Karen on the couch. She had moved and was now on her back giving Sidney the perfect place to lay. He quietly and slowly laid down on top of her and moved her hair off her neck, putting his mouth there instead.

"I knew you couldn't wait until tonight stud" Karen said with a smile.

Sidney lifted his head to see her staring at him "oh I can wait until tonight, but I never said tonight was the only time anything was going to happen."

"Well why don't you control yourself Crosby and make tonight unforgettable."

"I already planned it that way baby" he said as his lips found hers in a slow yet passionate kiss. They stayed locked together for what seemed like forever when Karen left his lips and pushed him off to go get ready for their date.

After an hour of fighting Sidney off her in the shower and as she was getting her make up on, Karen went to the closet to get the dress she brought in case they went out for a nice dinner.

"Baby wait" Sidney said stopping her from bringing out her dress.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong, I just bought you a dress to wear tonight."

"When did you buy me a dress?"

"This afternoon. After going to the restaurant I made a stop at the hotel's clothing shop and found a new dress for you."

Karen just stood there and smiled at him "you just couldn't resist could you?"

"Nope" he said getting the garment bag. Sidney laid the bag on the bed and kissed her cheek "open it after I leave" he told her before kissing her temple and walking out of the bedroom.

"You always have to keep amazing me" she told herself as she bend down to unzip the bag. Her eyes widen when she saw the dress and how beautiful the coral color would be against her golden tan skin. She picked it up and put it against her, looking at herself in the mirror. "You did good Crosby" Karen smiled at herself before putting the dress on the bed and began to get ready.

Twenty minutes later, Karen had walked downstairs and into the living room. She cleared her throat to get Sidney's attention, who stood looking at her.

"Wow, baby you look amazing."

"And all thanks to you of course."

"Do you like it?"

"I love it."

"If you don't like the style or color the shop is open until 9 so you can go change it."

Karen walked over to Sidney wrapping her arms around his waist "I love everything about it. So stop and take me to dinner."

"As you wish my beautiful wife" he said before kissing her. They headed out and walked down to the restaurant for their romantic dinner date.

They got to the restaurant and was seated on the patio in the corner. Karen smiled when Sidney sat with his back to everyone else. He said it was so he could concentrate only on her but she knew it was so no one would recognize him. Soon the waiter came over and Sidney had ordered for the both of them.

"Wow, look at you being all gentlemanly."

"Baby, I keep telling you that isn't a word."

"Sorry stud but that's what you're being."

"Well, I feel the need to make you less independent at some things."

"More like you felt the need to be a 1950s husband" she said smiling. The waiter came over and poured their wine and left the bottle for them.

Sidney picked up his glass as Karen did the same "to my beautiful wife, who finally got her honeymoon. I don't think I could love anything as much as you right now."

"Only until you start training for next season."

"Ok yes, hockey is my passion and obsession but you my dear have been my passion and obsession too." Karen sat there and smiled before taking a drink "and what about me?

"You my hockey stud have been my play toy until my real husband comes home."

"Ah, and where is the 'real' husband?"

"Russia...did I forget to mention Geno and I met a long time ago and secretly got married?"

"Yeah you kind of left that part out. Now I understand his obsession with you" he said as Karen just smiled at him.

"Now that you bring it up, Max said more of the guys then just our little circle, have taken a liking. What is going on in that locker room before games and practices?"

"Maybe its because I constantly talk about you. Maybe they see the selflessness I see. You're genuine in everything you say or do." Karen just listened to what he said "I think a lot of the guys either wish they had that or could find it."

"But for the ones that have been married for years should already have that. I can understand Jordan, Kris, Geno and guys with girlfriends to compare my values to theirs and see what they're missing."

"Why does it bother you?"

"Its not bothering me, I'm just curious as to why I have a whole hockey team that likes to flirt with me and don't see them do it to anyone else's girlfriend or wife."

"How about this...when training camp starts, we'll invite everyone over for dinner and you can ask them one on one why they like you so much."

"Maybe I just need to ask a few" Karen smiled.

"Well if they say its because I pulled rank and made a threat don't believe it" Sidney said smiling back at her. Their food came and they ate with more conversation.

After dinner, Sidney took Karen to the beach to walk that way back to their villa.

Karen stopped and turned towards the water as Sidney stepped behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist "I can't beileve I'm here" she said in a whisper but loud enough for Sidney to hear.

"What, you haven't taken vacations to places like this before?"

Karen closed her eyes and took a deep breath "I've been to places like this before, I meant with you."

"What do you mean?" he asked turning her around to face him.

"I'm not, not happy with you so don't get that idea" she said as Sidney nodded "I love you more than anything but how can I not keep thinking that this is all a dream. I mean, you're you. A famous hockey player that every kid in the US and Canada wants to be like, not to mention every woman with a lively labio that's yearning for you and you chose me to be with. Every day I wake up beside you and pinch myself to believe you are with me." Sidney looked down to the sand until Karen brought her hand up to caress his cheek "I don't see myself with anyone else or even without you. My life is with you, I just can't believe it sometimes."

"What's weird...I can't believe I'm with you. You've lived your life and here comes this kid that new nothing of life other than hockey and you've turned him into someone that is mature beyond his years."

"I think you were like that before me. If you didn't want to live up to the hype of a famous athlete and have girls upon girls every night, that made you smart and mature before you met me. Look at how you are with your money? Or your work ethic? Sid, I don't know anyone your age, famous or not, to be able to manage all you do."

"I had help with that."

I know your parents and agent but you still could've said 'fuck it, I'll do what I want' and spent whatever."

"And I love that you don't want any of it" he said pulling her closer to him.

"Oh I want it all. I'm just waiting for you to cheat so I can get it outright."

"See, I knew there was a reason to draw up a pre-nup" he said as Karen's face fell. "I'm sorry baby. I didn't mean..."

"Its ok. We never really talked about it but I figured your dad and agent would've been hell bent on you having one."

"They did and there was one drawn up."

"Really?"

"I read over it and didn't agree to anything in there." Sidney let go of her and walked a bit away to the water "I couldn't see only giving you a certain amout it this didn't work out or you had to give up my last name if we did divorce." He turned around and saw her looking at him "I never would have asked you to sign it."

Karen walked over to him "I would have signed it. Not because they wanted me to, but to show you that I didn't care about your money and only wanted to be with you."

"Thanks baby."

"But I would have fought the keeping your last name."

"Oh yeah."

"Please, with the last name of Crosby and living in Pittsburgh...I would have milked it until the day I died. Not to mention if I ever went to Canada."

"You'd seriously do that?" he asked with a smile.

"Maybe. Feel like testing the waters in that department?"

"No but wouldn't mind testing that water out there. How about we had back and change for a late night swim?"

"I would love a late night swim with you" she said before he leaned down to give her a kiss. When they broke apart, they headed back to finish out their date.
