The next few weeks passed and it was Thanksgiving. Karen was hoping to have dinner with Sidney, his parents and invite Natalie and Max to join them but the game of hockey had other plans. The game on the day after was an afternoon game and the Pens were going to be leaving after the game Wednesday night to spend Thansgiving in New York.

After the game, Karen was waiting down in the lounge until Sidney was done with the media talking about their 3-1 win over Montreal. She was sad that he wouldn't be home for Thanksgiving and tried to hide it as best she could, but Sidney picked up on it when he came out to see her before getting his shower.

"I know, I just figured they would let you have dinner with your family then leave tomorrow night."

"I hate disappointing you Karen. I know you wanted to celebrate all the holidays at the new house this year."

"Well, we'll still have Christmas Eve and Day there so I guess I can quit bitching about you missing Thanksgiving."

"Well tomorrow, I will be thankful for you and your love if that helps" he said smiling to get her to.

"It does" she said before looking at her watch "you better get your shower to head out."

Karen broke away first as their foreheads connected together "I love you too stud." She kissed him again and left him heading to the door. She turned around and smiled, blowing him a kiss then left. Sidney stood there for a minute and closed his eyes, letting out a sigh before going back into the locker room and getting his shower so the team could head out.

On Thursday, Karen was invited to the Lemieux house for dinner and since she was by herself, she didn't hesitate to go. Natalie went to her mom's and of course Diane and Sheril had their families to spend the day with. Thanksgiving was never a holiday Karen cared about since she worked in retail. It was one day off and then the Christmas rush began. But since she and Sidney got married, she cared a little more to want to spend it with him all day. Maybe one year they'll have the day after game at home and it won't be an issue...at least for one year.

"Karen, you don't need to help. Go sit and relax today" Nathalie told her.

"That's ok, I love cooking."

"You wish you were at home making this dinner huh?"

"Does it show that much?" she said smiling.

"Well either you really, really miss Sid or you're disappointed that you didn't get to make dinner this year for him and his family."

"I guess since moving into the new house I figured I would be entertaining, especially this year."

"Yeah, Thanksgiving is harder with them having the next day game but Christmas they'll be home for two days."

"That does make it better."

"Damn girl, can you love that boy any more than you already do?"

"Yeah I think I can" she said as they both laughed and finished getting dinner ready.

Later that night after Karen had gone home, she was relaxing and watching tv when her phone rang. She smiled before hearing the voice on the other end.

"I miss you."

"You're going to make me feel bad already huh?"

"Nathalie invited me over, so I went there."

"Thought Nat was coming up to have dinner with you?"

"Well since her mom and stepdad have separated, she didn't want to leave her alone today. I'm just fortunate to have another family to take me in."

"I don't think Mario would have wanted it any other way baby."

"So what did you guys do for dinner?"

"Billy invited us to his house and his wife and mom had dinner for us."

"Aww, that was sweet."

"Yeah it was but I still couldn't help missing you today."

"I have forgiven you for leaving me stud, stop pouring it on so thick."

"How about when I put some whipped cream on my piece of pumpkin pie it really made me miss you."

"Well, when you get home you'll have to show me how much. I do have a piece of pumpkin pie and we definitely have whipped cream."

"We won't need the pie baby."

"Or just use all that pent up energy and kick some Islanders ass tomorrow then come home to relieve it."

"I just might try that. You going to bed soon?"

"Yeah in about a half hour. Need to be awake for the mad rush tomorrow morning."

"Will you get home in time for the game?"

"I should since it's not until 2p."

"Then I am going to say goodnight my beautiful wife and I love you."

"I love you too Sid. Good luck tomorrow and I'll see you tomorrow night."

The next day was hectic and Karen had run all over the store for product and customers. She was a few minutes late getting out and called Sheril as she was leaving who told her to get her ass to the house before Karen could ask to watch the game with her. She told her she was on her way and headed there.

"Did I miss the start of the pregame?" Karen said as she walked in Sheril's house.

"Damn woman, can't you knock and wait to be invited in?"

"Um, you already invited me over so knock knock, can I come in?"

"You nutball and it just started with no signs of sexy Sid yet."

"How many times must I tell you to keep all perverted thoughts off my Sidney?"

"Um, excuse me" Natalie said walking in "have you two seen MY man?"

"Does no one visit someone's properly anymore?"

"Sorry Nat but Sidney wins hands down."

"Ok, changing the topic. I made some snacks if anyone is hungry."

"I am starving girl, only had time for a quick break and a handful of popcorn" Karen said going into the kitchen with Natalie and Sheril following her.

"So how was the mad dash this morning?"

"Oh my god, jeans went flying everywhere with people trying to find their size. Everytime I turned around I was handing jeans to someone."

"Glad I work in the cash office and didn't see all of it."

"Well next year, I am going to make my way to you and force my way in to hide" she said getting her plate fixed and heading back into the living room. She watched the pregame and saw Sidney was about to be interviewed. As soon as he came on she couldn't hold in her smile.

"You're pathetic" Natalie said but as soon as they talked to Sidney, Max popped up next as Natalie had the same look. Karen saw the same smile from her and looked at her "oh what, it's not the same thing."

"It's not the same, you mimic my look when your man pops on the screen and say it's not the same? Please girl, totally the same so stop making fun of me." Karen and Natalie both giggled as her phone went off "at least mine calls me before the game" she said smirking then heading out on the porch "hey stud."

"No, I got done late and headed to Sheril's so I didn't miss anything."

"Oh, ok. Well then I need to go cause the Capital's game is beginning on NBC."

"The whole NHL could be playing today but I wouldn't want to watch any other hockey stud then you."

Karen stood on the porch for a few more minutes and said a silent prayer that they pulled off a win before heading in to settle on the couch to watch the game. The game wasn't bad but the Pens ended up losing 3-2. Sidney was held without a point and Karen knew he'd be somewhat disappointed. The girls decided to head out for a quick dinner before she went home to wait for Sidney to get there.

The plane touched down and Sidney couldn't wait to get home. It was sweet but got pathetic at times that his thoughts were either on the game or Karen. The guys ribbed him of how bad he was in love with her but he didn't care because he was more in love with her now than when they first met. He made his way to his car and headed home.

Karen had fallen asleep on the couch watching tv when Sidney came in. He quietly put his bag down and took off his jacket, walking over to the couch kneeling in front of her "hey baby, wake up."

"Just walked in."

"Sorry you guys lost."

Karen didn't speak words but let her lips do all the talking until she broke away "I still have that piece of pumpkin pie stud."

"Funny, that's exactly what I am in the mood for." Their lips met again for a kiss before they got up. Sidney led her to the hallway and stopped her. He let go of her hand and told her to wait while he went to the kitchen to get the piece of pie and can of whipped cream. He held it up and Karen laughed as she took the plate and held his hand going upstairs.

"Can I play first?" Karen asked putting the plate on the nightstand. She knew if she let Sidney play first, she wouldn't have the strength to go second after he got done with her.

"Absolutely" he said holding up the can of whipped cream. Karen took the can and put it on the nightstand by the plate. She slowly undressed him as he helped her off with her clothes until they were both standing there naked.

Karen leaned up and kissed Sidney before her head nodded towards the bed. He smiled and kissed her again before laying down on his back in the middle of the bed. She stood beside the bed, looking up and down his body before crawling up on the bed and straddling over his body, hovering over him.

"It's ok, couldn't go emptyhanded to dinner but made sure I made extra to have some to bring home."
